The art of writing

I agree with the saying that if you want to write a single page you must read at least 10 pages before beginning the writing. There are various reasons to agree with this statement.

First, one must possess sufficient knowledge on the topic chosen to write on and it comes only through life experience and extensive reading. If you don’t have such sources of knowledge you cannot write an effective and convincing piece of work.

Second, reading not only imparts new knowledge but also helps you develop the writing through closely observing the writers’ written piece of work. For example, if you read a masterpiece of Shakespeare you will be inspired by his mastery of using words artfully. Similarly, the writings of Milton and other legendary writers will let you know how they used language and words to spellbound their readers.

Third, reading is the best time pass when you are free and want to enjoy this time to enhance your knowledge of the world. Every book you read, every page you go through will add more knowledge and insight to your wisdom and this is the only way you can become a scholar or a wizard yourself.

Having elaborated the essentials of reading, now let us focus on the art of writing and how you can become a master of writing yourself. The following few points will help you be a good writer and win the attention of large number of readers.

Choose an interesting topic

Although this is very common advise and every guru would have told you to choose the interesting topic, perhaps you may still be not very clear about its importance. In fact, choosing the right topic is half the way to write a perfect piece of work. If you are not clear about a certain topic you will never be able to write on it and if the chosen topic is your favorite one then you may be able to write hundreds of pages without losing your intention.

Concentrate on the topic

If you tend to lose your concentration very often then it I feel sorry to say that you can never be a good writer. Concentration is the most important factor for becoming a good writer. Just keep focused on your topic and write as elaborately as you can and sure your work will be applauded.

Be your own judge

Once you have finished writing, you must go through the written work again and again and you will surely find many points that would need corrections, editing, and rearranging. Also, there must be some points that would not be convincing for you as well. So, going through the written work yourself will make you the perfect writer in the long run.

Write regularly

If you develop a habit to write regularly and frequently there will come a time when writing will be a source of pleasure for you and this is the only shortcut to become an acknowledged write.
